FAQ

Short, specific answers. If your question is not here, email info@wirednwireless.ca — we will answer it, and probably add it to this page.

General

What is Wired N Wireless?

A Winnipeg tech shop that sells networking gear, automation and smart-home systems, robotics and maker kits, and drones. Installation services available on request.

Why buy from Wired N Wireless instead of Amazon?

Honest answer: if you want the cheapest price on a single commodity item and you are confident installing it yourself, Amazon is probably cheaper. We do not pretend otherwise.

Where Wired N Wireless is worth it:

  • You want it installed. Installation services available on request, with a 12-month workmanship warranty.
  • You want local warranty hands. Something breaks, you email us. No chatbot, no return label from a warehouse in Ohio.
  • You need it today. In-stock items ship from Winnipeg, or you pick up in person.
  • You want honest advice. We will tell you when the cheaper option is fine. The Amazon recommendation engine will not.

Where are you located?

Winnipeg, Manitoba. Wired N Wireless runs as an online store with local pickup by appointment, and offers installation services for Winnipeg and surrounding communities.

Shipping & Returns

Where do you ship?

Canada nationwide by default. International by request on a case-by-case basis — email for a quote. See the Shipping Policy for details.

Do you sell to other provinces?

Yes. Stock products ship Canada-wide. Installation services are by request for Winnipeg and surrounding communities, with project-basis travel available if the scope justifies the trip.

How long until my order ships?

In-stock items: 1 to 3 business days from order to label. Oversized freight and built-to-order items are quoted with a realistic timeline on the order confirmation.

Can I pick up in Winnipeg?

Yes. Choose local pickup at checkout; we will email when your order is ready and confirm a pickup window. Typically within one business day for in-stock items.

What is the return policy?

30-day returns on unused stock items in original packaging. Drones and built-to-order items are excluded — drones because registration cannot be reversed, built-to-order items because they are spec to a specific buyer. Full details on the Returns & Refunds page.

Installation

Do you offer installation services?

Installation services available on request across Winnipeg and surrounding Manitoba. Send a message.

Is your installation warrantied?

Yes. 12 months of workmanship warranty on every install we perform. Covers the labour — terminations, cable runs, mounting, configuration. Product defects are handled under the manufacturer warranty. Full terms on the Warranty page.

Can you work on my existing setup?

Usually yes. Existing networking, smart-home, and automation systems other people installed can typically be added to, troubleshot, or reconfigured. The caveat: the 12-month labour warranty covers our work, not the parts of the system we did not touch. We will tell you upfront what we can stand behind and what we cannot.

What area do you cover?

Winnipeg and surrounding communities by default. Project-basis travel available — rural Manitoba, Northwestern Ontario — where the scope justifies the trip.

Do you do free estimates?

Yes, for Winnipeg and surrounding communities. Free on-site assessment, flat quote with no surprise change orders unless scope changes.

Robotics & Maker Kits

Do you stock parts for classroom and competition robotics?

Yes. Microcontrollers, sensors, motors, motor drivers, displays, LED strips, Raspberry Pi accessories, and full robotics kits. Browse Robotics & Maker, or message us if a specific part is not listed.

Can you advise on what parts to use?

Yes. Tell us what you are building, the experience level of the builder, and any constraints (budget, deadline, compatibility). We will reply with the parts that fit and a realistic budget range.

What about custom builds and bulk classroom orders?

See the Custom Builds page or get in touch.

Drones & Automation

Do you handle drone registration?

We can point you at the Transport Canada registration and basic and advanced operator certificate process, and walk you through it if you are new to the category. Registration itself is done by you directly — it is tied to the pilot, not the shop.

I still have a question.
